Aspirin is used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti platelet drug.  At low doses aspirin is a more specific COX-1 selective inhibitor and anti platelet drug than other NSAIDs, At low doses aspirin has been used in animals to prevent thromboemboli formation.
